Market Rules

Producers must sell their own produce for which they are actively involved in the production process of the goods for sale ie. All produce must be grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the producer.

Producers must be local ie. within a 30 mile radius of the defined local area. This can be extended to a 50 mile radius to ensure as wide a range of products as possible. Non-local guest producers from over 50 miles can be accommodated if their produce is unique to the market.

All producers are accredited by Thames Valley Farmers Market Cooperative prior to attending the market.

Stalls must be staffed by the producer, family member or someone who is directly involved in growing, raising or producing the goods on sale.

No bought-in produce or otherwise acquired products may be resold without further processing. Processed goods must contain at least 10%, and ideally 25% local ingredients. This will be verified through the production of receipts and invoices.

Goods must be clearly priced and information must be available to customers about the producer's business and production methods.

All producers must comply with current Trading Standards and Environmental Health requirements.

All producers maintain current Products/Public Liability insurance.
